Keta Municipal Assembly Conducts Capacity-Building Training for Environmental Health Officers
The Environmental Health Unit of the Keta Municipal Assembly, in partnership with the Human Resource Department, successfully organized a one-day capacity-building training session for its Environmental Health Officers.

The training, facilitated by Mr. Kingsley Yevutsey, a lecturer at the Ho School of Hygiene, was coordinated by the Head of Human Resource, Mr. Jones Nketiah.
This training aimed to equip officers with the latest knowledge and practical skills necessary for effective environmental health management and service delivery.
During his presentation, Mr. Yevutsey highlighted the significance of professionalism, strict adherence to sanitation laws, and the implementation of preventive measures to protect public health.
Participants engaged in discussions covering key topics, including:
- Overview of Environmental Health and Sanitation By-laws and Regulations
- Legal Framework for Environmental Health Enforcement (Public Health Act, 2012 – Act 851)
- Techniques in Gathering, Handling, and Presenting Evidence
- Documentation and Preparation of Dockets for Prosecution
- Courtroom Ethics, Witness Preparation, and Case Presentation Skills
- Collaboration with the Police and Judiciary
The officers expressed their gratitude to the Assembly for this initiative, describing the training as timely, insightful, and highly relevant in enhancing their ability to enforce environmental health regulations and promote improved sanitation throughout the municipality.
