According to him, Assembly members are going through a lot of financial difficulties in their quest to fund projects and programmes that are at improving the plight of the people.
Highlighting on some of the challenges they face as representatives of the Electoral Areas in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, Mr Adu resort to benevolence of individuals and firms to fund their projects, a situation, he added makes their work very stressful.
He insisted that communal work like desilting of gutters and other forms of clean-up exercises which are often associated with Assembly members come with big-budgets hence most assembly members are unable to fund such initiatives throughout their term of office.
Mr Adu however, opined that, the current trend of events could be completely wiped out if Assembly members are given some kind of stipends and funding supports to cushion them in running their day-to-day activities.
He therefore appealed to the government and other relevant policy-making bodies to reconsider establishing a statutory fund to enable them work effectively and efficiently.
Meanwhile, the soft-spoken Assembly member also revealed some efforts being initiated by his office to improve security in the area.
Dubbed “operation brightening Awudome”, Mr Adu disclosed that his office has begun the installation of sizeable number of streetlights in every corner of the electoral area.
