The Minister nonetheless consoled the vanquished nominee and urged him not to feel disappointed because there were several opportunities ahead of him and that he should stay focused as such opportunities unroll.

The Presiding Member of the Assembly, Mr Dominic Aboziah, who is also eyeing the DCE position, said he was short of words to express himself after extensive deliberations to get members to vote to confirm the President’s nominee.

Mr Abuga Pele, Member of Parliament for the area, called on members of the assembly to mend the pieces and get together to bring the needed development to the area, because development was key to the socio economic lives of the people.

Mr Dalu polled 38 against 26 votes in the 64 member assembly. By this, he failed to make the two-thirds votes required for his confirmation.

Mr Brews Ayisi, Upper East Regional Director of the Electoral commission and his Deputy Mr Azu Boscos supervised the election.
