Fix our metallic footbridge– residents appeal

The Resident of Ashaley Botwe in the La-Nkwantanang Madina Municipality in the Greater Accra Region have appealed to the Assembly to fix their Metallic footbridge over a gutter in the township meant to be life saver for the pupils who attend school daily.

Mr. Kwadwo Asare a resident, speaking with Ghanadistricts.com said, the only footbridge linking the communities to their school has become a death trap.

He said, the Metals footbridge has rusted and has become very much exposed creating holes in them which residents can easily hurt anyone who dares cross it.

In their quest to save lives, the residents have adopted appropriate technology on the bridge by laying on the metallic slabs, wooden doors and the woods to cover the holes in the metals and that however has not solved the problem.

A female Resident also emphasized that, the place has now become a crime zone criminals have been robbing people here on a daily basis because people barely walk on the bridge.

She pleaded with the Member of Parliament in the area and the officials from the Assembly to come to their aid and fix the bridge for the school children.
