Having been established in 1917 with the core mission of winning the ultimate prize of heaven for mankind, the Church used the Easter festivity to remind the congregants to rekindle the lights bestowed on them to pave the way for it to fulfill its mandate of winning souls for Christ and honouring its social, moral and religious responsibilities.
Delivering the sermon Sunday to climax the occasion, Rev. Charles Anim Brako, Berekum Area Head of the Church, beckoned members of the congregation to join in the crusade of winning souls for Christ and teaching themselves to observe the precepts and commands of the Almighty God to grant them the ultimate prize prepared for them in the end.
He urged Christians to be committed enough to serve both the LORD, humanity and the nation at large with love, joy and affection to ensure harmony, peaceful coexistence, good rapport amongst members of society, thereby fostering development in the long run.
The Reverend Minister advised the congregants to be confident, but neither allow over complacency nor inferiority complex to set in their affairs; live fearfully to the LORD, and not to toil with their lives but to lead lives worthy of emulation, to attract immense blessings from the LORD, which would spur them on to attain the ultimate prize of the crown of life.
On his part, Rev. Samuel Nkansah, the Area Secretary, admonished Christians to shun all acts of carnality, be committed enough and pursue the kingdom business of God to enable them to forge ahead courageously with their responsibilities as Christ’s ambassadors to renew the face of the earth.
As part of the ceremony, a 5-member Executive Youth Committee was inaugurated to steer the affairs of the activities of the youth for the next three years. The executive comprised Prince Kyere Korang and Doris Yeboa, who retained their respective positions as Youth President and Secretary; Geeorge Atta Enning and Bright Appiah, freshly elected as Prayer and Evangelism Leaders and; Samuel Kumi as Youth Organizer.
On behalf of the executive, Mr Kyere Korang, the President, expressed his heartfelt felicitation to the teeming followers of the church for teaming up with them to uplift the image of the youth and the entire church at large. He pledged to deliver with his charges with superb artistry to maintain the confidence reposed in them.
