Ms Georgina Yvonne Graham Hayfron, Municipal Director of Health, told the GNA that a cholera centre had been set up at Anomabo Health Centre to offer prompt services to patients.

Ms Hayfrom said the setting up of the centre followed reports of three suspected cases of the disease, two of which were from Abandze near Anomabo and the other one from Mankessim.

She said the setting up of the centre did not mean that all cholera cases must be sent to the Anomabu Health Centre, adding that all health facilities in the municipality had been adequately prepared to handle cholera cases.

Ms Helena Tibiru, Municipal Disease Control Officer, appealed to the people in the municipality to pay attention to personal and environmental sanitation.

She advised them to stop defecating indiscriminately and must ensure that they washed their hands with soap after visiting the toilet and after shaking many hands at public gatherings.
