"Entrepreneurship is the lifeblood of the economy, and it has been the driving force behind many of the most significant technological and social advancements of our time. Whether it's creating new products, services, or business models, entrepreneurs have the power to change the world for the better", he stated.

He added that the government will continue to create and also support other organizations like SONGTABA to develop initiatives to contribute to the sustainable development goals especially goals 1 and 8, Reducing Poverty and creating Decent Work and Economic Growth.

"The Northern Regional Coordinating Council recognizes the fact that unemployment continues to contribute to poverty among many households in the Northern Region.

Many graduates continue to struggle to find employment opportunities after completing school, but the fact still remains that the private sector still remains the biggest employer and must be supported to expand to create more employment opportunities for the youth", he said.

In this regard, Mr Shaibu commended SONGTABA for contributing to developing young entrepreneurs and reducing the poverty levels and vices among young people in the Northern Region.

He encourages young people to position themselves to take advantage of similar opportunities.

Meanwhile, twelve young entrepreneurs who successfully passed through the selection criteria received an amount ranging from Ghc2, 000 to Ghc 5, 000 to fund their start-ups.

He advised them to use the grants more productively to earn more so that they can take good care of themselves and their families. He admonished young men and women in the region to venture into entrepreneurship rather than chasing white-collar jobs.
