All Afigya-Sekyere school to be connected with electricity

All schools in the Afigya-Sekyere District are to be connected with electricity to enhance teaching and learning of Information Communication Technology (ICT), Mr Edward Kusi Ayarkwa, the District Chief Executive (DCE), has said.

He said it was important the young people of the area are assisted to become computer literate if they are to be competitive in the fast paced technological world.

Mr Ayarkwa was addressing an ordinary meeting of the assembly held at Agona.

He said the Assembly would also focus on the promotion of technical education that is vital for socio-economic progress.

Mr Ayarkwa said skills acquisition through technical and vocational training was the answer to the soaring unemployment among the youth and must therefore be given the needed attention.

He said there are plans by the assembly to build a model technical institute and this would create the opportunity for all the school children and students in the district.

Mrs Catherine Reckling, the Presiding Member, urged the members to continue to work with unity of purpose to speed up the progress of the area.
