The Reverend Minister, tagged 'Sofo Broni' by his teeming following, gave the advice on the sidelines of an auspicious retreat to climax a 3-day 'Powerful Encounter Service' on March 9 at the Soul Winners auditorium in Berekum of the Brong Ahafo Region, with the theme: "The LORD guide you onto the Right Path," carved from The Book of Psalms, Chapter 37, Verse 23.
Rev. Daniel K. Oppong maintained that the choice of the theme for the service was in line with the current state of affairs when insatiable desire for materialism and uncontrollable urge for worldly pleasure compelled many a person to commit heinous crimes, whilst losing sight of the fact that life without God is null and void.
He sounded a word of caution to people who indulge in criminal activities, including cyber fraud, murder, robbery, sorcery, voodoo, amongst others, to be wary of their dubious deeds for they were digging their own graves earlier; once anyone who did so sold their souls to the devil to manipulate them to suit his own whims and caprices.
He charged Government officials and religious leaders to spearhead job creation and investment opportunities to alleviate poverty and its attendant crime wave among the deviant citizens, since lack of employment was a major contributing factor to the upsurge of criminal offences nationwide.
The General Overseer admonished leading members of communities nationwide to champion the crusade against moral decadence, create the awareness on the repercussions involved in offensive conduct, and to intensify education on sound moral principle of the Holy Scriptures, which is the source of divine favour and eternal prosperity.
To public officials who misconducted themselves by embezzling and misappropriating public funds and engaging in all forms of corrupt practices, the Minister of God warned them to refrain from those unfortunate acts; adding that President Akufo Addo's appointment of a Special Prosecutor to look into issues of bribery and corruption was a step in the right direction.
Rev. Daniel Kwasi Oppong was full of praise for His Excellency the President on his plans to make judicious use of the theme for the country's 61st Independence Day celebration, "Ghana Beyond Aid," as indeed the surest means to chart "a path to prosperity and self-respect for Ghana," through the exploration of the copious natural resources of the nation.
