The Deputy Minister made this statement in Abotia in the Ho West District Assembly during the Assembly's 5th Town Hall meeting held this year at the Global Evangelical Church.

"I must state that the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has no parochial interest in the creation of new regions in the country which the proposed Oti Region to be created from the Volta Region is not exception" Pius Hadzide stated.

According to the Deputy Minister it was a request laid before government by concerned people from the affected regions with the aim of fast tracking developmental projects to every corner of the country which the political parties including NPP and NDC bought the idea and campaigned vividly promising to create such region after winning power and considering their request will work in line with the Constitution of the republic to create such regions.

He was quick to add that "this is the same as creating new District Assembly from an existing MMDAs, the people have to request and then government conducts its investigation and then create the district Assembly in line with the requirement of the constitution of Ghana".

Pius Enam Hadzide discredits the impression created by critics that due diligence was not taking saying "the Akufo Addo's government working through the Ministry of Regional Reorganisation headed by Dan Botwe are diligently working in line with the Constitution and has made the necessary consultations needed".

He also added that government will not hesitate to listen to the plight of the people advising critics to stop distracting the people demanding the region for their share of the national cake in terms of development.

The Deputy Minister ceased the opportunity to highlight on some policies introduced by the Akufo Addo's government which includes the most applauded Free SHS, the planting for food and jobs, the 1D1F, planting for export, the Nation Builders Corps which has absorbed some 100,000 graduate unemployed, the One million dollar per constituency among others saying "most of this projects has hit running and we as government believes we are on the right path transforming our mother country: "I wish to appeal to all Ghanaians to rally their support behind the Akufo Addo's government as he led us to the promised land".
