The main structure, along with roofing and plastering, is complete.
What is left now is the fixing of doors, windows, painting, and electrical installations.
The project will serve Dakudzi, Keklebesi, Agbedor Kofe, Wuvevia, Wuvega, Kpenkor, among other communities when completed.
Torgbui Satsi III, the Chief of Adzonkor said that to bring healthcare services closer to the doorstep of his subject, he petitioned the Ghana Health Service (GHS) for CHPS in 2016.
He told said that the intervention would directly reduce travelling hours spent by pregnant women and lactating mothers when accessing healthcare services at Ziope and Keyime Health Centres, respectively.
Torgbui Satsi III, who is also the Head of the Science Department at Tongor Senior High Technical School in the South Dayi District of the Volta Region, said despite global progress, an increasing proportion of child deaths occurs in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, where four out of five deaths of children under the age of five occur in the region.
He said the provision of a permanent CHPS Compound in the area would help reduce this situation.
Torgbui Satsi added that the completion of the project would save lives and directly contribute to reducing the maternal mortality rate as well as preventable deaths of newborns and under-five in the area.
He told the said that the project would be fully completed and handed over to the GHS by the end of May 2025.
Torgbui Satsi commended individuals supporting the project.
