For a district with people that access health delivery from Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds, commissioning such a big health facility came as a big relief to residents who often trek hours to neighbouring Bawku West and Garu-Tempane Districts to access quality health care.
Mr Emmanuel Abugri Azimbe, the Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, which has been named the Azimbe Hospital said the establishment of the hospital was a long-time dream he envisaged to help provide the needed healthcare to the people of Binduri and adjoining districts.
“That is the only way I can give back to the society to appreciate their effort, because there is no hospital in this district,” he added.
In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the District Chief Executive, Yakubu Ayinga Abagre said the four million Ghana cedis ultramodern hospital has a theatre, laboratory, consulting rooms, maternity, male, female and children’s wards and all other important units to meet a hospital status.
He said, the commissioning of the Hospital had come to augment government’s efforts at providing quality and accessible health care to the people of Binduri and the country as a whole.
He added that behaviour of staff towards clients was not common in the private sector and entreated managers of the Hospital to make customer relations key to service delivery.
The Upper East Regional Quality Assurance Coordinator, Mr Anetu Amoah entreated managers of the Hospital to be wary of quack medical practitioners who might want to compromise quality and safety of clients.
