N JUABEN: Assembly approves budget for the 2017 fiscal year

Assembly Members for the New Juaben Municipal Assembly on the 10th of November this year, during the 2nd Session of the 7th General Meeting, have approved the Revenue Budget, Expenditure Budget, Imposition of Rate and the Composition Budget for the 2017 fiscal year.

Under the Local Government Act, 1993, Act 462, the “District Assembly is responsible for the preparation and approval of its annual budget”. The Act also states that the functions of District Assemblies shall formulate and execute plans, programmes and strategies for the effective mobilization of the resources necessary for the overall development of the district.
