New Juaben North Hosts Training Workshop for Day Care Operators

The Social Welfare Department of New Juaben North has organized a one-day training workshop for operators of Early Childhood Development Centers in the municipality. The session formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutions and build capacity within the childcare sector.

The training aimed to sharpen the skills of day care operators and equip them with knowledge of the laws and policies governing day care centers.

In his opening address, the Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben, Hon. Samuel Adongo, urged participants to take the workshop seriously to deepen their understanding of the role of the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development.

He stressed that the well-being of children and vulnerable individuals is paramount, and encouraged proprietors to be committed not only as managers but also as individuals with strong ethical and legal awareness.

Mr. Patrick Opong, Municipal Director of Social Welfare and Community Development, guided participants through the processes of registration, renewal, requirements, and penalties related to adherence to standards and permits for operating a day care center.

Facilitator Mr. Bismark Amoh reminded operators of their legal obligation to create a safe and inclusive environment for every child, regardless of physical challenges.

Additionally, the Municipal Environmental Health Officer, Mr. Daniel Darku, outlined effective measures to ensure safe and hygienic environments within day care facilities.

A total of twenty-five (25) day care operators participated in the training.
