The IGP, who was appointed by President Nana Akufo-Addo last in July, is on a nationwide tour to get firsthand information from stakeholders and also bridge the gap between the police and peoples in various communities to help assist the work of the police.

Nana Kyeremankumah, the Kronkohene of the Nkoranza traditional area in his submissions, stated that, crime is high in the Municipality due to the different ethnic groups in the Municipality.

He said the youth often indulge in all forms of drug abuse, stealing, and armed robbery among other violent crimes.

He therefore appealed to the IGP to intensify patrols on the Kintampo New-longoro, Kintampo Buipe and Kintampo Prong roads. He added that the Police in the area should also be equipped with the needed resource and support to deliver on their mandate.

He also seized the opportunity to provide a police post at Mansra, a community in the municipality.

On his part, Mr Akuffo-Dampare and his team promised to do everything possible to fight the rampant crime in the municipality. He however, wants chiefs to join the police by providing information to the police to help investigate and arrest these miscreants.

He bemoaned the diminishing good standards and morals in the society, adding that Chiefs and Traditional Leaders have a lot of work to do in restoring discipline and good morals in the society.
