From the rich forest reserves of Southern Scarp, Kade Bepo, and Nkawanda to the scenic waterfalls and ancient artifacts at Asuboni No. 3, the Municipality is blessed with unique sites that hold significant tourism potential. Other attractions include the fascinating caves at Nkawkaw-Kuma, traditional pottery works at Oframase, and the famous Kwahu Scarp with its paragliding landing site at Nkawkaw-Atta Ne Atta.
Despite this abundance, many of these sites remain underdeveloped.
Stakeholders say the lack of investment in infrastructure and promotion is preventing the Municipality from fully benefiting from its tourism assets. With the right support from both public and private sectors, these attractions could be transformed into standard tourist destinations capable of generating jobs and boosting local revenue.
Tourism experts believe that developing these sites will not only enhance the Municipality’s visibility but also drive socio economic growth across communities.
As calls for investment grow louder, attention is now turning to how quickly these untapped opportunities can be harnessed to position the Kwahu West Municipality as a major tourism hub in Ghana.
