Gomoa Central distributes additional 50,000 Oil Palm Seedlings to farmers

Fifty thousand oil palm seedlings have been distributed to farmers in the Gomoa Afransi in the Central Region.

The distribution was in collaboration with the Assembly and the Member of Parliament, Naana Eyiah.

Speaking during the presentation Municipal Chief Executive Mr. Benjamin Otoo noted that the distribution brings to 100,000 a number of Seedlings supplied to the farmers in the District within a space of two months

" Under the Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD) program, more than 200,00 Oil Palm Seedlings alone apart from Cocoa and Coconut Seedlings have been distributed to our gallant farmers to boost cash crops production. This will also enhance economic growth and development in the Gomoa Central District".



The beneficiary farmers were drawn from all the 34 communities in the District.

Present were the Gomoa District Director of Food and Agriculture, Mr. Richard Marcus Odame and his Deputy Mr. Alfred Alfredo Nii De-bronzy Aryeetey, Presiding Member, Hon. Kweku Nyarko Koomson and host of others.
