The items presented to the beneficiary schools include laptops, science kits and robots, which are expected to provide pupils with opportunities to explore scientific concepts, develop critical-thinking skills and gain practical experience in technology-related subjects.
The initiative forms part of efforts to improve the quality of basic education and equip young learners with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.
The provision of the equipment is expected to complement classroom teaching by giving pupils access to practical learning tools that can make STEM subjects more engaging and easier to understand.
Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Emmanuel Kwesi Lawer emphasised the importance of maintaining the equipment to ensure that it serves its intended purpose for the benefit of pupils and teachers.
He indicated that the Assembly would monitor the various school committees to ensure that the equipment is properly maintained and kept in good condition.
The monitoring arrangement is intended to promote accountability and ensure that the items are used effectively rather than being left idle or allowed to deteriorate.
The intervention highlights the importance of investing in educational resources and strengthening practical science and technology education at the basic school level.
It is expected that the support will enhance teaching and learning, encourage pupils to develop an interest in STEM-related fields and help prepare them for future academic and career opportunities.
