3rd Assembly of the Ga North Municipal Assembly inaugurated
The inaugural meeting of the third Assembly of the Ga North Municipal Assembly was held on Monday, 12th February, 2024.

A total of 21 Assembly members were sworn into office by the Magistrate of the Ga North Municipal Court at the forecourt of the Municipal Assembly.
Out of 21 Assembly members, fourteen were elected members representing the fourteen electoral areas that make up the Municipality. A total of seven others were appointed on the ticket of the ruling government to serve as Government Appointees.
Their role is to support the interest of their appointing body and to compliment the effort of the Municipal Assembly.
Dr. John Ampontuah Kumah, the Deputy Minister of Finance presenting the inaugural speech on behalf of his Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo called on Assembly Members and Unit committee members to rally behind the development of the Municipality.
Dr. Kumah encouraged Assembly members to also acquaint themselves with the National development and planning policies that has been established by the government; this he said would enable members to effectively guide the Municipal Assembly to implement development driven policies for the benefit of residents in the Municipality.
Mr. Simons Sekyim, the Municipal Chief Executive tasked members to be cooperative and devise means to assist the Municipal Assembly in revenue generation. This, he said would enable to Assembly to successfully undertake initiatives that would improve the welfare of the various electoral areas.
Among the dignitaries who graced the occasion included a representative from the Regional Coordinating Council, security commanders of the Municipallity, the chairpersons of the NPP and NDC in the Trobu constituency.
