N DAYI: New vocational institute ready for commissioning

The North Dayi District Assembly will not continue to watch its youth population continue to suffer for jobs mostly because of lack of skills that will make them productive in areas they are most needed.

The has thus taken a bold step to provide interested persons with skills that will enable them get into self -employment or other informal sectors with the establishment of Vocational Institute at Botoku.


District Chief Executive for the area, Stephen Komla Timinca in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com said the infrastructure for the school is ready, furniture is also ready, while few equipment like industrial machines, hair dryer, among others have also been procured to give the institute a smooth start. More equipment are also yet to arrive, he added.

According to the DCE the North Dayi District Assembly wholly financed the project but is collaborating with the Integrated Community Centre for Employable Skills, ICCES to help achieve the sole objective of equipping the youth with vocational skills to enable them to contribute meaningfully to national development.

And baring any last minutes changes the school will be commissioned early November to commence admissions.
