MP, DCE commission two classroom blocks

The pupil of Kwabrafoso JHS and the Asonkore JHS can now heave a sigh of relief after the Member of Parliament for the Obuasi East Constituency Dr. Patrick Boakye-Yiadom together with the District Chief Executive (DCE) Mrs. Faustina Amissah commissioned separate classroom blocks for the two schools.

The MP said the Asonkore School grappled with the challenge of running a shift system hence the construction of a 3-Unit classroom was welcoming news for both teachers and pupils.

The Kwabrafoso School also had a challenge with overcrowding since the student population was increasing hence the construction of a 2-Unit classroom block to help alleviate the plight of the pupils.

Dr. Boakye-Yiadom disclosed that the two projects cost GH190,000 and GH150, 000 respectively.

The DCE added that the Assembly is taking steps to end the shift system and overcrowding in schools. “In view of this the Assembly has put in place measures to expand infrastructure in schools”, She said

The District Director of Education Mr. Kwabena Owusu-Nketiah lauded the Assembly and MP for the investment made in education in the District.
