Ejura Municipal Assembly celebrates farmers

The Municipal Chief Executive of Ejura Sekyedumase Alhaji Mohammed Salisu Bamba has congratulated farmers in the Municipality and the entire nation for their hard work for the country.

The MCE addressing the farmers at the 35th National Farmers day celebration noted that farmers play a pivotal role in every nation’s development, most especially in Ghana as most of the population are involved in farming adding that Farmers contribute a great deal to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country.

Therefore, there is the need for them to be celebrated and thanked them for providing food, meat, and other items from their farms.

Alhaji Bamba then encouraged them to adhere to best practices in modern farming and also take advantage of the government policy of planting for food and jobs, and other government policies to better their lives.”Farmers are to be the richest in society so I urge you all to take advantage of the policy and work towards it” he said.

He advised the youth in the Municipality to get into farming since it is the fastest-growing sector in the economy and also indicated that it is the agenda of the Assembly to grow the local economy with agriculture to create jobs that are sustainable.
