World Vision Ghana donates over 590 hospital equipment to Assembly

World Vision Ghana, Kintampo Area on Friday, January 28, 2022, donated some hospital equipment to the Kintampo South District Assembly.

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, Michael Tia during the handing over ceremony at the World Vision office indicated that the programme is to “Improve feeding practice for the first 1000 days”.

The project is supported by World Bank, World Vision Japan for a period of four (4) years and is in its third year.
The target group of the project is women of reproductive age and children under two (2) years.
There are twenty one (21) communities in the Kintampo South District benefiting from the Improve feeding practice for the first 100 days project.

The Project Coordinator, Christian Duut noted that the project is been implemented in only three Districts in Ghana Kintampo south in Bono East, Sekyere East in the Ashanti Region and Kessena Nankana West in the Upper East Region totally 70 communities.

Among the equipment handed over to the District Assembly include: 166 Salter weight scales, 166 Weight pants, 166 Slings, 66 Infantometre, and 33 Electronic weighing scales.He said last year under the same project 10 Microcuvettes and 4 Hemocues devices were donated to the district and same number will be donated this year again.
The District Chief Executive of Kintampo South, Opoku Nyame took delivery of the equipment and handed them over to the District Director of Ghana Health Service, Ms Libabatu Dauda and charged her outfit to put the equipment to good use to help improve heath delivery services within the district.

He used the opportunity to thank World Vison Ghana and requested more projects be brought to the district to help bring progress and prosperity to the people of the district.
