He said, it has become necessary for them to remain home to prevent another tragedy.

His concern follows the latest mayhem reportedly caused by fulani herdsmen in Agogo.

Three soldiers and a police officer, who are part of a task-force set up to evict nomadic herdsmen in the Asante Akyem North District of the Ashanti Region, were wounded in Monday’s shooting incident.

According to Police in the area, an unknown assailant laid ambush and shot at the security personnel, who were in the bush as part of measures to evict the nomadic herdsmen and their cattle.

They are said to be responding to treatment at the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital.

Mr Appiah Kubi told Alpha news that the District Police Commander, Samuel Azagu, has been compromised and hence unable to trigger any effective action against the herdsmen.

“We have all the evidence against him of his suspicious dealings with the herdsmen and we will tender it today as we meet the Regional Commander, REGSEC over the issue.

Locals of the area insists the herdsmen have outlived their welcome and there is no way they can expect to enjoy the proverbial Ghanaian hospitality.
