The exercise began at Abor, where beneficiaries from the municipality's Northern Zone received training on proper poultry management and bird care before the chicks were distributed at the Abor R.C. School.

According to the Municipal Assembly, the municipality was zoned to ensure the smooth implementation of the programme. Beneficiaries in the Southern Zone are expected to receive similar orientation and distribution support on the second day of the exercise at the Keta Municipal Assembly Hall.

A key beneficiary of the initiative is the Keta Senior High Technical School, which is expected to receive 1,300 birds to revive its poultry project. The school's Agriculture Department, working closely with the Municipal Assembly, has already put in place the necessary preparations to ensure the successful implementation of the project.

Municipal authorities say the initiative is aimed at boosting poultry production, creating economic opportunities, and strengthening food security within the municipality.

The Municipal Chief Executive further indicated plans to deepen stakeholder engagement and collaborate with other educational institutions to establish poultry farms in all senior high schools across the municipality. The initiative is expected to support school feeding programmes while providing students with practical agricultural training and skills.
