The cost of the project is GH?450,000 and is being funded through GETFUND.

The construction of the school facility became necessary because the existing school structure which was constructed by the people about twenty years ago is in such a dilapidated state that it did not facilitate effective teaching and learning especially, during the rainy season.

The floor of the school is dusty and the roofs leak profusely when it rains hence the school is closed down whenever it rains resulting in the reduction of the contact hours for the school children.

Hon. Benjamin Anhwere at the sod cutting ceremony highlighted some of the achievements of the government. He specifically mentioned the four one-storey dormitory blocks built for New Edubiase SHS, the 12-units one-storey classroom block at Akrofuom SHS, the surfacing of New Edubiase Town roads and the Ataase-Obonsu  road;  the provision of electricity to some communities in the district and construction of schools and CHPS Compounds across the length and breadth of the district.

He also informed the people that plans are far advanced to connect 50 communities to the national electricity grid of which Ayaa Mankata is among the beneficiary communities in the district.

"The NDC government is the only government which is rural oriented and think much about those who live in rural communities hence the provision of infrastructure that will bring happiness in the lives of the rural folks", the DCE stated.

Mr. Benjamin Anhwere called on the people to throw their support behind the President and Hon. Ernest Kofi Yakah the parliamentary candidate of the area in the coming elections to enable the NDC to continue the good works.

In his appreciation speech the hundred and over years old Nana Mankata chief of Ayaa Mankata who braved all odds to attend the ceremony thanked the DCE and the assembly for the provision of the new modern school facility. "Today I am so excited and delighted to hear this good news; my people will not let you down", the chief asserted.

The Member of Parliament Hon. Ernest Kofi Yakah who accompanied the DCE to the community advised the people not to be used by any Politian to foment violence during the upcoming general election. "Election is a means to choose our political leaders; it is expressing your views and not fighting; we are all Ghanaians hence do not let us destroy ourselves because of elections ", the MP concluded.

The people at the ceremony expressed their joy over the new school building but were quick to add that the project should be a political gimmick just to win their votes.
