The school which was established in 1979 by the people of Wuruyie through communal labour has not seen any major repairs and this has led to serious defects on the building. The floors of all the six classrooms are dusty, there are cracks in the walls and the floor leaks profusely.

These major defects on the building makes it very dangerous to the lives of the children and the teachers. It is against this background that the Adansi South District Assembly decided to give the school a major renovation to avert any disaster in the near future.

The renovation work which involves re-roofing, patching all the cracks, concrete works on the floor and painting is being funded through the District Assembly Common Fund. The contract sum of the project is GH?150.000. The renovation when completed will facilitate effective teaching and learning and allay the fear of the people concerning the collapse of the school building.

Breaking the ground to begin the work, the District Chief Executive of Adansi South Hon. Benjamin Anhwere charged the contractor to complete the project within the stipulated period to enable the school children to use the facility. "We don't want the children to suffer in their studies because of the project, I am therefore urging you to complete the work on time', the DCE stated.

The Assembly Member of Wuruyie West Hon. Andrew Amesewu enumerated some of the projects the government through the District Assembly has done at Wuruyie including the road from Wuruyie Junction to Kotwea, a toilet facility, school feeding, Zoomlion services, community centre and the Area council office.

He therefore thanked the DCE and the District Assembly again for the renovation of the school block. "The deplorable state of the school worried all the people at Wuruyie and its environs because it served as a death trap to the children and the teachers; we thank you very much", he stated.

Togbe Agama who represented the Odikro of Wuruyie pleaded with the DCE to help the community to establish another stream for the school because there are too many children in one classroom. "All the classrooms are full; the teachers say seventy pupils are in one classroom which does not ensure effective teaching and learning. We would be happy if our request is granted please”, Togbe Agama ended.

The DCE used the occasion to plead with the people to support the NDC government in the coming elections to enable the government to continue its good works. "If you appreciate the good work of the government then the only reciprocal thing you have to do is to vote massively for the President and Hon. Kofi Yakah the Parliamentary candidate of the NDC". The Hon. DCE concluded.
