Three Winneba-based contractors, have filed a writ at the Agona Swedru high Court against the Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, the Presiding Member, and three others members of the Effutu Municipal Assembly, for breach of contract.

In their writ of summons, the contractors, namely, Mr John Benford Bondzie, Mr Kofi Antwi, and Mr Gabriel Ebo Amevor, are claiming that the five persons have wrongfully terminated their contracts.

The five are, Nii Ephraim, the Municipal Chief Executive, Reverend Eldard Bonney, the Presiding Member, Ms Elizabeth Awo Sena, Mr John Sekum and Mr Joseph Sylvester Silver, the Assembly Members.

The contractors, are therefore, praying the court to award judgement debts in their favour against the Effutu Municipal Assembly, for wrongfully terminating their contract, and unlawfully ordering the take-over of toilet facilities from them.

In their statement of the claim, the contractors averred that in January last year, the Effutu Municipal Assembly entered into a contractual agreement with them to manage three public toilets.

They further averred that in August 2013, without their consent and knowledge, the Assembly ordered three of its members to take over the facilities, located at the Osakam, Kojo Beedu North and Dwomba electoral areas, all within the Municipality.

The contractors further averred that since the contract was supposed to expire in December, they have not flouted any of the rules and regulations contained in the agreement.

The contractors are, therefore, praying the court to give judgment in their favour, to enable them claim judgement debts from the Assembly.
