Mr Nii Ephraim, Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, has advised local government workers threatening nationwide strike to rescind their decision.

The Local Government Workers Union, of Trades Union Congress had slated a nationwide industrial action on Monday 14, against the recent tariff increases in water and electricity.

Mr Nii Ephraim gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Winneba at the weekend.

He said since government has declared its intention to handle the issue through dialogue it is important for the workers to wait for the outcome of such vital decision.

The MCE reminded workers of the assembly of their individual and collective responsibilities towards the overall development of the nation and the municipality in particular.

He said the strike would be counter -productive because it would affect the Better Ghana Agenda and the effective operations of the assembly.
