Residents in the Krachi Nchumuru District in the Volta Region have appealed to government to intervene in improving their road infrastructure which is in very deplorable conditions at the moment.

As one of the newly created districts in the Volta Region curved out of Krachi West District in 2012, the district is faced with numerous challenges which authorities are hoping to address in due course.

However, road construction is capital intensive and in most cases goes beyond the threshold of district assemblies. It is in light of this that government intervention is always sort for in dealing with road infrastructure.

Being the district with deprived communities, and residents engaged mostly in farming and fishing, the creation of the district was hoped to bring a lot of development to the area and they looked forward to the actualization of this.

Currently, transportation is a challenge to the people especially in their effort to cart their farm produce from the farms to market centres. The situation has effect on all aspects of life of residents including health and they called on government to make some swift intervention to save them. They also hope improved road network will attract more traders from major market centres to do business with them.
