TARKWA : Tarkwa schools receive sanitary wares

Treds Envitech Limited, an Environmental Management and Sanitation Service Provider, has presented assorted sanitary wares, equipment and water filters worth GHC 10,000 to the Tarkwa Municipal Education Office to promote basichygiene among school children in the mining town.

Treds Envitech Limited, an Environmental Management and Sanitation Service Provider, has presented assorted sanitary wares, equipment and water filters worth GHC 10,000 to the Tarkwa Municipal Education Office to promote basic hygiene among school children in the mining town.   

The items included 200 pieces of hand wash bowls, 200 metal bowl stand, 20 boxes key soap, 40 bales of Napkins and 12 pieces of water filters and would be distributed to schools within the municipality.   

Mr. Robert Nelson Adayi, Operations Director of the Company, who presented the items to Ms. Catherine Davis, Municipal Director of Education, Tarkwa and Nsuaem, said the gesture was to enable the children to have a sound and healthy sanitary environment for academic work.   

He urged the school children to inculcate the habit of eating well and practice proper hygiene.   

"The company is also poised in assisting in its operational communities with basic health and sanitation needs to promote a sound and healthy environment", he added.   

Mr. Adayi mentioned that the company in September this year, made similiar donation to the Ntrotroso Community in the Brong Ahafo region.   

Ms. Davis, Municipal Director of Education, lauded the company’s zeal to promoting sanitation in schools and communities in which they operated.   

She mentioned that the water filters in particular would go a long way to help schools which could not access potable water and depended most on wells and streams.

Ms. Davis noted that the national campaign on hand washing with soap and clean water especially by school children had been given a boost by the company’s donation.
