A GH¢ 40,000 library and Information and Communications Centre has been commissioned for the Xavi community in the Akatsi District.

In his address, The Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Colonel (rtd) Cyril Necku, said libraries play crucial roles in the advancement of communities and urged the people to ensure its judicious use to transform the community.

Clonel Necku was hopeful that the project would help the children and youth in the area to cultivate the habit of reading and also use the computers to enhance teaching and learning.

Mr. Joseph Koku Horgli, a philanthropist, who initiated the project in memory of his latemother, Mrs. Rebecca Abla Horgli, an educationist, called on parents and teachers to encourage the children to make judicious use of the library to enable them to be abreast of modern trends.

The Executive Director of the Ghana Library Board, Ms. Tsigbey, pledged to stock the library with research and development materials for teachers tp upgrade their skills and knowledge.
