(AKIM ODA) BIRIM CENTRAL: Nurses Training School holds matriculation
The Principal of Akyem Oda Community Health Nurses Training School, Ms Francisca Armah, Tuesday urged student nurses to be guided by the virtues of dedication, discipline and hard work as they begin their professional carrier.

The Principal of Akyem Oda Community Health Nurses Training School, Ms Francisca Armah, Tuesday urged student nurses to be guided by the virtues of dedication, discipline and hard work as they begin their professional carrier.
She reiterated the need for them to be guided by good work ethics so that they would be able to make positive contributions to national development.
Ms Armah, who was speaking at the matriculation of the school at Akyem Oda, advised the students to preserve life by making their patients’ needs to be their first port of call in their line of activities.
She reminded them that nursing is a noble profession and urged them to use the skills they would acquire during their training positively.
Mrs Cecilia Kalitsi, Deputy Registrar of the Nurses and Midwives Council of Ghana, advised them to be disciplined.
“You should take discipline as an important tool in your journey of becoming professional nurses, controlling negative attitudes, managing your time and even your dressing”.
Mr Yaw Owusu Boateng, Member of Parliament (MP) for Akyem Oda, appealed to the nurses to be hard working since their progress in life depends to a large extent on hard work.
Nana Akua Asantewa 111, paramount queen of the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, said she had allocated a seven-acre plot to the school towards the construction of a hostel to help ease accommodation problems facing the students.
In all 405 students were admitted to the school to do diploma or certificate courses.
