Kwadwo Asare, a farmer of Timianko near Akim Oda who went to his former wife’s farm while she was working and attempted to kill her with a cutlass, has appeared before a magistrate’s court at Akim Oda.
Asare pleaded not guilty to a threat of death and was admitted to GH500 bail with a surety to reappear on December 7.
Chief Inspector Kwadwo Ahenkorah told the court that Abena Nkrumah and the accused both lived at Timianko near Akim Swedru.
On November 7, Mad Nkrumah went to her farm that was given to her at Timianko by her former husband and while working she heard an unusual noise and raised her head.
She saw the accused standing nearby holding a sharp cutlass but the former wife fled.
Asare chased her and issued a threat "if you step on the farm again, your life would be taken away. You are lucky to run away".
He said a report was made to the Akim Swedru police and Asare was arrested.
