The Mayor who was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the 9th Assembly of AMA also called on the members to discharge their duties with integrity, and avoid seeking their parochial interests to the detriment of their respective communities.

She expressed delight at the blend of the old and new members coming together, stating that the experienced ones would put their rich experience and knowledge to bare to ensure continuity whilst impacting the knowledge in the new members

She advised that members take the time to abreast themselves of the duties and responsibilities as Assembly members as enshrined in the Local Government Act 2016, Act 936 among other related legislative instruments and the constitution.

She said it is imperative for assembly members to keep close contact with their communities, attend regular assembly meetings and be active participants in the decision making process.

More importantly, she underscored the need for the members to lend their full support and dedication to the management of the Assembly in various endeavours for the soul aim of meeting the developmental aspirations of the people they serve.
