A number of casualties are already being recorded in various districts across the country as a result of this year’s rainy season, which is  characterised by heavy downpour amidst wild winds.

The season has seen many districts earnestly preparing to avert any disaster it might come with.

Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, the Deputy  District Coordinating Director (DDCD) in the Jaman North, Mr Charles Ferka indicated that apart from destruction by winds, the district did not have a problem with flooding as experienced in other areas.

He however indicated that during the rainy season the poor nature of roads in the district made it inaccessible particularly the road linking the District to Jaman South.

This according to him, prevented cashew buyers from coming to the district to buy.

He said although efforts are being made to complete construction of the town roads, the sluggish attitude of the contractors has not helped.
