The road is in bad shape which makes it difficult for motorists to ply on it.
Mr Issifu Alidu Laa-Bandow, District Chief Executive, made this known during the sod cutting ceremony at Zabzugu for the commencement of work.
He said the deplorable nature of the road had been a source of worry to him and therefore decided to put into good use some heavy equipment such as a tipper truck, wheel loader and grader the assembly purchased through its share of the District Assemblies Common Fund.
Mr Laa-Bandow expressed worry about the frequent nature trucks loaded with foodstuff such as yam and maize get stuck on the road.
He tasked the workers on site to shy away from shoddy work and ensure that value for money is achieved.
Drivers passing by at the time of commencement of work couldn't hide their joy at the initiative of the District Chief Executive.
The project is funded by the internal generated funds of the assembly.
