Limited voters’ registration kick-starts in Techiman Municipality

The Nationwide limited voters’ registration exercise scheduled to start from 17th June to 7th July, 2019 had begun vigorously in the Techiman Municipality.

The Municipal office of the Electoral Commission looks busy like a market when ISD team visited the office, political party representatives were also seen busy making arrangements to ensure that their supporters who are qualified are duly registered.

The Municipal Director of the Electoral Commission, Abdul Sadique Wahid explained that the exercise is ongoing smoothly in the Municipality, with the only challenge so far encountered to be slow network regarding the online registration. However, they resort to the use of the BVR machines which does not rely on network.

According to Mr. Sadique, the office has an itinerary for the off-line limited registration exercise at the various registration centers in the electoral Areas.

He urged the general public to take advantage of the dates the commission scheduled to meet them at their respective centers very serious.

Below is the breakdown of the dates and registration centers within the Municipality.

He added that with the pace at which the registration went yesterday if the numbers are maintained the office can assure of registering from Two thousand (2,000) to three thousand (3,000) voters by the end of the excise.

Mr. Wahid stated that the office was able to register one hundred and eighty four (184) voters the first day.

When ask of challenges the office is facing as far as the exercise is concern, he said those challenges can be handled within but so far No body had fill any complain form to him.

He said with the off-line limited registration data generated will be submitted to Accra on weekly bases
