Atrama community gets kindergarten block

The Afigya Kwabre South District Assembly has constructed a 2-unit classroom model kindergarten block with ancillary facilities and 4-seater public toilets for the people of Atrama to enhance education to improve upon human development and promote.

The KG block with estimated cost of GH227, 000 comprising office, store, sick bay with - seater water closet toilet and the public KVIP facility estimated at GH350,000 was funded from the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF).

In his inaugural address, the District Chief Executive (DCE) Mr. Adu-Poku Christian reiterated the value of education hence the implementation of the government flagship program, the free shs.

He disclosed that all basic schools in the district are beneficiaries of the free feeding programme and therefore called for full patronage by the children aligning the responsibilities to the parents if education is to make any headway in the communities.

The DCE also assured the community of the Assembly's determination to establish both Primary and Junior High School very soon to absorb the KG pupils.

The District Director of Education Mr. David Akomeah Asokwa noted with satisfaction that his name would be recorded in the history books of the school that during his tenure of office the facility was built.

He also lauded Nana's efforts for releasing land for the project and urged the community to ensure they send their children to school in their numbers.

Present at the ceremony were Assembly Members, Departmental Heads and other staff of the Assembly, Chief of Atrama Nana Boakye Yiadom Karikari and his elders and others.
