Farouk Aliu Mahama donates to Muslim Communities in Yendi

As the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan draws to an end, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama in the spirit of the holy season has made a donation of 800 bags of rice, and a whopping sum of Ghc50,000 to the Muslim community in the constituency to support them celebrate the upcoming Islamic festivity, Eid-ul-Fitr.

The huge donation is in consonance with his desire to enable needy Muslims and their families to undertake the big celebration with ease and joy. The festival is considered as an indispensable spiritual event on the Islamic calendar.

Before the donation was dispatched to Yendi, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, through his assigns, unveiled it to the NPP Regional Leadership and received their blessings, buy-in and advice at the party headquarters.

Present to oversee it on behalf of the regional leadership was the Regional Organiser, Alhaji Rashid COP, who described the donation as a huge relief to party and advised that the donation should be done in a manner that touches the rank and file of the party. He added that they welcome and commend such interventions.



The 800 bags of rice and the Ghc50000 sum have been well-targeted and they are to be distributed to dozens of party faithfuls, over 100 opinion leaders and chiefs, youth and women groups, and the Islamic clerics (ulemas).

Alhaji Farouk urges all Muslims to endeavour to share the little they have so as to enable the underprivileged to enjoy the eid. He had supported the Muslim brothers during every festival and would continue to assist in order to maintain a good relationship and he also congratulates the Muslim world on a successful end of the holy month.



He maintained that it is his bid to nurture, grow, sustain and maintain the popularity of the party in the Yendi Constituency, a seat the NPP has held since 1992.

Alhaji Farouk also urges Muslim celebrants particularly those in Yendi to continue to use the blessings of the eid to pray for continued peace and tranquility in the town especially at a time the aged Dagbon feud has ended. Muslims in Yendi appreciates the kind gesture of Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama for his unceasing support to the people.
