Lobby for investors – Atiwa DCE tells stakeholders

The District Chief Executive for Atiwa, Mr. Kwabena Panin Nkansah, has called on stakeholders in the Atiwa district to join hands with the assembly in looking for investors to invest in the district.

He said the district was endowed with many potentials which needs to be harnessed for the development of the area and therefore called on the people to join in the crusade and lobby for potential investors to take advantage of the resources in the district.

Mr. Kwabena Nkansah made the call at a public hearing organised by the Atiwa district assembly on the preparation of its medium term development plan for 2018-2021.

The forum created the platform for the stakeholders to participate in the formulation of the medium-term development plan of the assembly.

Addressing the participants, the DCE asked them to take keen interest and participate fully in the formulation process because according to him no projects would be undertaken outside the development plan.

The District planning Officer, Mr. Benjamin Abomirigo Asaah, who took the participants through the formulation process, tasked them to assist the assembly in generating the needed revenue in order to support the assembly execute the development agenda in the district, since according to him most of the projects in the 2014-2017 development plan could not be implemented due to financial constraints.

The assemblyman for Wintinase Electoral Area, Mr. Oteng Adjei who chaired the program appealed to the management of the assembly to adequately resource the area councils to enable them function as stipulated by law.

Stakeholders who took part in the forum included traditional leaders, assembly members, unit committee members and heads of decentralised department.
