LEKMA to Expand Polyclinic into a General Hospital
A sod cutting ceremony for the expansion and remolding of the LEKMA Polyclinic into a general hospital status has been held and site handed over to the contractor to commence work.

This expansion when completed will make way for the current 12 bed facility to be increased to forty (40). There’s an inclusion of Surgical & Dental theatres, ENT, Eye, NICU, X-ray, Physiotherapy and Gym units to the already existing services.
Other recommendations were made for the inclusion of a créche for staff, nursing mothers was also drafted in by the architects.
Addressing the occasion, Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development who also doubles as the Member of Parliament for Krowor, Madam Elizabeth Quaye acknowledged the role of the past political administration for the facilitation in ensuring that the only public health facility in the Nungua Township is expanded.
The management and staff of the facility were elated about the expansion which will help increase quality healthcare services to the people of Nungua and its environs.
Distinguished people presents were Nungua Traditional Council, the Municipal Chief Executive, Madam Evelyn Twum-Gyamrah, Director of Health Services Jacqueline Sfarjilani, staff and others.
