Ga Central: Awoshie - Pokuase highway nears completion

The Municipal Chief Executive of the Ga Central Municipal Assembly, Dr. Emmanuel Lamptey received officials from the African development Bank (AFDB) and Regional Urban Roads Department to inspect community development projects within some communities in the municipality.

The 15.2 km road which is the first phase of Awoshie-Pokuase highway is 99% complete and it comes with an urban life enhancing infrastructures such as a 36 unit classroom block at Ablekuma, Anyaa bus terminal with auxiliary offices and clinic upgraded,  pedestrian footbridge at NIC and road extended to adjoining communities.

The Awoshie – Pokuase road which was urgently required to improve mobility and accessibility in the municipality was included in the major road development programme of the government to enhance productivity in achieving poverty reduction.

Dr. Lamptey thanked the officials for bringing such development to the municipality and requested from them to help roll out the component of the budget to help complete the clinic with some logistics.

The officials called for a cautious and thorough use of the facilities to guarantee longer life span, even for the next generation.
