The DCE noted this at a two-day Capacity Building Forum on Climate Smart Agriculture at Nsawkaw, the district capital.

The forum was organized by the Center for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for Agric Extension Officers and farmers in the district.

Lawyer Dwommoh, in her keynote address said, although government is bent on fulfilling its “one district, one factory”, it was still within the mandate of the assembly to ensure that collapsed factories in the district are duly revamped to create more jobs for the people.

She therefore promised to involve all stakeholders in her bid to push for improved agriculture production, adding that a collective effort by all stakeholders will ensure that “Tain becomes one of the leading producers of agricultural products in the region”.

In view of this, the DCE promised to ensure that the Menji Agric Senior High School in the district is fully transformed into practical Agricultural College as part of efforts to enhance agric production.

The DCE also took the opportunity to express her profound gratitude to the researchers from CSIR and assured them of them of the assembly’s support.
