The Municipal Chief Executive, Collins Offinam Takyi who disclosed this at the commissioning of the Dwomo CHPS compound informed the people that through the efforts of the Member of Parliament, Hon Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere, “we have secured funding for the construction of an ultramodern Out-Patient Department (OPD) and administration block for the Bechem Government Hospital.”
According tohim, their quest to make quality health delivery more accessible in the municipality is being given a boost through some of these interventions and the Bechem Hospital will have its fair share of improvement.
He also commended the MP for donating an anesthesia machine to the Bechem Government Hospital last month and disclosed that plans are far advanced to acquire an ambulance for the Hospital to augment the work of the National Ambulance Service.
“We are aiming that out of the 21 CHPS Zones in the Municipality, 6 more i.e. Kwasu, Asuboi, Breme, Mansin, Dwomo and Adaa will have functional facilities to bring the facilities to 9 by the close of the year 2018.”
Contract for the construction of the Breme CHPS Compound the MCE noted has been terminated for breach of contract, adding, Management is in the process of repackaging that contract together with an uncompleted CHPS Compound at Mansin and the Municipal Health Director’s residence at Bechem to be reawarded.
“I cut the sod for the construction of another CHPS Compound at Adaa in March this year which is about 55% complete”, the MCE stated.
