BANDA: Resource Link Foundation supports education in Banda and Wenchi

The donation was part of activities marking this year’s my First Day at School. It is also part of the NGOs School Improvement Programme aimed at creation an enabling environment for effective teaching and learning.
Addressing teachers and pupils at the various beneficiary schools in the two Districts, the Country Director Resource Link Foundation –Ghana, Mr. Christopher Dapaah charged the pupils to study hard to prepare a better future for themselves. He added that it is only when their performance reflects the support they receive from the organization that they will continue to get such support.
He expressed his organization preparedness to support the education of children especially in the Banda District and the Wenchi Municipality to compliment government’s effort of making education accessible and affordable to all children of school going age. He thanked Resource Link Foundation-Netherlands and the WILDE GANZEN for their continuos support for the organization’s activities in Ghana.
On his part, the Wenchi Municipal Director of the Ghana Education Service, Mr. Nelson Adu Poku appealed to government to pay particular attention to the basic issues that affect the lives and future of children instead of overconcentration on the adult population.
He tasked the teachers to make good use of the teaching materials to enhance teaching and learning. He thank the organization for the kind gesture and assured them of putting the materials to good use.
In all about GH64, 000 worth of teaching and learning materials were donated to the beneficiary schools.
The items included; 800 phonetics books, 8,000 class 1-6 My First Copy Books, 12,000 exercise books, 800 KG English and Mathematics books in pictures, 800 Dictionaries,1000 pencils with erasers and 1000 pens.
Some of the beneficiary schools were Wenchi Methodist Cluster of Schools, Branam Islamic and Subinso Primary Schools all in the Wenchi Municipality. In the Banda District, Methodist and R/C Primary Schools were some of the beneficiaries.
