He said such a move would attract huge patronage, including Africans in the diaspora, adding that, a five-year developmental plan by the Traditional Council and the various district Assemblies, under the Ada Paramouncy, must consider how to mobilize resources to rebrand the festival, to bring in more revenue to develop the entire traditional area.

Mr. Akrofi gave the advice when he officially launched the 2019 Ada Asafotufiami festival at Ada.

He said within the Ada East District alone, there are about 36 Islands and estuaries, and aquatic resources, a 47 square mile salt lagoon in the Ada West District, and arable land for cropping vegetables, among others, which lay untapped.

He said if the annual Ada Asafotufiami festival can be rebranded and well marketed it could become a money-making venture to support government subventions to undertake developmental projects in the area.

Ada state Manklalo, Agudey Kutu Obikyire III, outlined programmes and activities for the week-long celebration.

The festival begins on August 1, 2019, with a grand durbar on August 3, at the Big Ada Presbyterian School Park, to be attended by the first lady of the Republic Mrs. Rebecca Akuffo Addo, who would be the special guest of honour.
