NCCE marks 68th independence with quiz for basic schools in Atebubu

The Atebubu-Amantin office of the National Commission for Civic Education NCCE has marked this year’s Independence anniversary with a quiz competition for selected basic schools in the municipality.

Contestants drawn from the Atebubu Presbyterian JHS A, Atebubu Methodist JHS B, Atebubu Anglican JHS and the Early Childhood Development Model JHS answered questions mainly on the 1992 constitution in addition to some current affairs.

The Atebubu Methodist B School garnered a total of 89 points to emerge victorious with the ECD model JHS coming second with 80 points whiles the Presbyterian JHS came third with 78 points after a very keen contest.

All competing schools received certificates for participation.

Earlier in a speech read on her behalf, the acting municipal director of the Commission Mrs. Evelyn Laar said the quiz which is being organized by her outfit across the country aims at deepening the knowledge and understanding of pupils of the 1992 constitution as the supreme law of Ghana and to keep them abreast of some current issues unfolding in the country.

Various speakers including Pastor Nelson Aho of the Galilean Prayer Ministry who served as the quiz master and Mr. Cobbinah Williams training officer at the municipal education directorate congratulated both pupils and their teachers for an impressive performance and urged them to attach same level of seriousness to their studies.
