Asante Akim South honors best farmer with salon car
The Asante Akyem South Municipal Assembly has crowned Mr Henry Samuel Nii Ayibotey as the Best Farmer of the Municipality for the year 2021.

He received a Daewoo Matiz car, farm inputs and a certificate at an event held at Banso, a community in the area.
The first and second runner ups also received tricycles and farming materials, sprayers, television sets, freezers, machetes among others.
This year’s event was under the theme: “Planting for Food and Jobs, Consolidating food systems.”
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area, Mr. Alexander Frimpong addressing the people at the ceremony said consolidating food systems would require the supply of inputs, production of crops, livestock, and other Agriculture commodities.
He noted that the government is working hard to support the local Agriculture sector to produce more to the nation and extra for exports to reduce the food importation burden in the country.
He added that through the planting for food and jobs program Asante Akyem Agogo exports plantain to Burkina Faso, Mali, Benin, Togo, and other neighboring countries.
Mr. Kwaku Asante Boateng, the Member of Parliament for the area also assured farmers of the government's continued support and thanked them for their immense support for the government flagship initiative, "planting for food and jobs' '.
The Chief of Banso who was the chairman for the occasion, commended the MCE "For the first time a district awarded a brand new car to the best Farmer, it's unprecedented" he stressed.
