The new chief executive polled 42 out of a total of 44 votes representing 95.5 percent.

The assembly had earlier elected Hon. Yahaya Dindiok as it new Presiding Member paving way for the confirmation of the MCE.

Mr. Ayaaba who is a chartered accountant thanked his Excellency the President for the trust reposed in him and expressed his gratitude to traditional authorities, party executives, and assembly members for their support and pledged to work hard for the development of the municipality.

The Member of Parliament for Atebubu-Amantin, Hon. Sanja Nanja, the Bono East regional minister Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi and the Bono east regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress Mr. Unas Owusu graced the occasion.

Present were traditional authorities, security chiefs heads of department and a number of party faithful who expressed their joy through drumming, singing and dancing late into the day.
